The Faith of Abraham

There is a lot said in the Bible about Abraham's faith, and about it being credited to him for righteousness, but what did he have faith in?

Simple: God promised to bless him, and Abraham believed that He would.

God has always had a hard time getting people to believe that He will bless them out of His Love, not their works. Even today people fight against the prosperity teachings. They would rather believe that God will bless their hard work, or their tithes and offerings, rather than believe that He wants to do it just out of His giving nature.

Remember the popular saying: "God helps those that help themselves." Well, it's not in the Bible, and besides, why would God have to help you if you can do it by yourself? This is another doctrine of devils.

God never intended for mankind to earn their way. His plan was to spend eternity showing His Love and goodness to His children.

We are told to labor to enter into rest. What does that mean? The labor may be the struggle to get out from under religious traditions and enter into the rest of God providing all your needs, wants, and desires according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.

What did Jesus say in John 10:10? The same thing that God said to Abram!

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

What about Hebrews 11:6,

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Believe in God, and believe in His Love that wants to give you all good things, then you will walk in the Faith of Abraham!
