To all the preachers using the Old Covenant to illustrate how New
Covenant believers are supposed to live . . . Just stop already! We're
not under the old anymore. Ever since 70 AD, the old has been completely
done away with, so stop acting like it is for us today!
And don't preach the depressed whining of Job and Solomon as though they are relevant for us today.
I
agree that some of the OT is useful for our instruction (mainly what
NOT to do), but we must rightly divide the Word of Truth to know that
Jesus has fulfilled it ALL! There is NO MORE of the OT that needs to be
done!
Yes, there was a forty year period that was an
overlap during which even Paul screwed up and followed OT Jewish
traditions, but those days are over! Our Covenant is better, so stop
trying to go back into slavery!
We need to quit the doctrines of devils, and move on into the Law of the Spirit that brings Life and Liberty!
