Seedtime And Harvest

There is a lot of talk by preachers about God blessing people through "Seedtime and Harvest." The scripture used in in Genesis 8:22,

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

They point it out as a law of blessing that God instituted after the Flood to Noah and his descendants. But, if you read it all in context, you will see that God was telling Noah how things would work in the broken world! He was telling Noah that there were going to be 4 seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

Before the Flood, there were no seasons. Now, the Earth would only produce at certain times, not all the time. That doesn't sound like a blessing to me. It sounds like something that is extremely limited, producing a harvest one fourth of the time instead of all the time.

What did Noah do next? He planted a vineyard to make wine. Then he went on a massive drunk because the reality of what he did hit him. Noah's obedience destroyed the world, caused seasons, and killed everything except what was on the ark!

If you don't believe me, look at Hebrews 11:7,

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Noah understood what the consequences of his faithful obedience was. When he saw the results, it overwhelmed him.

Now, all of creation is waiting for the manifestation of God's children. Read Romans 8:19-22,

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Our job is to reverse the curse. That's why we've been given the power of life, to be transformed and be transformers.
